Many commercial soaps today are made with detergents, which are petroleum-based and contain a very small percentage of natural ingredients.  Skin has the remarkable ability to absorb the products you apply to it right into your bloodstream.  That is why skin patches work.  Do you really want your body absorbing bad chemicals?  Many skin problems are a result of the chemicals from soap and skin conditioners that you are using.  For instance, a "skin moisturizer" commonly added in commercial soap is aluminum.  It moisturizes by permeating your skin and attracting water, giving the illusion of moist skin.  In fact, you just have moist aluminum stuck on your skin, which your immune system must work to remove.  Using natural products helps to prevent your skin from ingesting harmful chemicals.

The by-product of lye soap is glycerin, which helps draw moisture to your skin and slows or prevents excessive drying and evaporation.  Moisture in the skin helps reduce many of the signs of aging.  Commercial soap makers have long been taking the glycerin out of their soap to sell to the cosmetics industry.  You can be assured that the soaps you buy from Jabón Natural retain all the natural glycerin and any extra glycerin we put in is vegetable-based.  Jabón Natural soaps are all made from ingredients found in nature, not in a chemical laboratory.
